Project narrative
An ambulatory-care and diagnostic-imaging centre built alongside a functioning hospital, including two vault-shielded imaging suites and a rebuilt central plant.
The challenge
Construction sat 11 metres from an operating emergency department. Vibration, infection control and unbroken ambulance access governed every method decision.
Our approach
We drilled rather than driven piles to hold vibration under the health authority's threshold, ran continuous ICRA Class IV containment at the tie-in, and re-routed ambulance traffic through five agreed phases with the clinical operations team.
The outcome
No clinical service interruption over 26 months, imaging vaults commissioned two weeks early, and full LEED Gold certification achieved on first submission.
